news KAMAZ plans to launch autonomous trucks for the transport of components

RusAutoNews.Com – KAMAZ Group plans to start the usage of autonomous trucks in the transport of components at its Naberezhnye Chelny plant in 2018. The investment in the unmanned transport development project will amount to approximately 500 million rubles this year, as told by the general director of the company Sergei Kogogin to journalists at Sochi Investment Forum.

The Russian LCV market, which showed the double-digit growth in the last year, nevertheless remained on the sixth place of the European rating. According to the European Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA), sales of light commercial vehicles in Europe in 2017 grew by 3.9% up to 2 million 065 thousand 489 units.

news Used bus market in Russia decreased

According to AUTOSTAT analytic agency used bus sales (without LCV) in Russia came up to 23,400 vehicles in 2017. That is 1% less than in 2016 (23,700 vehicles). Almost a half of the bus aftermarket is generated by domestic PAZ. Last year its sales came up to 11,500 vehicles – 1% more than in 2016. Then, far behind the leader, comes Korean Hyundai with about 1,900 vehicles (-8%).
